With a noncombustible (per ASTM E136) dimensionally stable gypsum core, ToughRock® Fireguard X® Stretch 54® Gypsum Board is specifically designed for 9′ (2743 mm) ceilings with a designated fire-resistant rating.1 The use of 54” (1372 mm) wide gypsum board in this application saves labor and time by eliminating the need to use board to fill the gap left from 4′ (1220 mm) wide board. 5/8″ (15.9 mm) ToughRock Fireguard X Stretch 54 Gypsum Board is UL-classified Type X, and has a flame-spread rating of 15 and smoke developed 0 when tested in accordance with ASTM E84.

The improved 1/2” board has enhanced fire-resistive properties and can replace standard and lightweight gypsum board in ALL 1/2″ wall and ceiling assemblies, including 24″ o.c. framed ceilings.
